Dodgers Update 8/11/09

Los Angeles- After picking up a huge win last night over the rival San Francisco Giants, the Dodgers are poised to add to their NL West lead. Lead by a huge 4th inning, San Francisco was unable to pull a late rally again Jonathan Broxton in the bottom of the ninth.

Following the win, the Dodgers improve to 31-12 against the NL West. Which is contradictory to their record against the rest of the National League at 28-24. The only way in which they will get to the playoffs will continue to come against their division rivals (Rockies, Giants, Diamondbacks, and Padres). They have an even 12-12 record against NL Central opponents (STL, MIL, CHI, HOU, PIT, CIN).

The Dodgers will need to end this trend if they want to continue to pursue the best record in baseball. Rumor has it that the Dodgers may bolster their depleted Starting pitching staff which features Randy Wolf, Clayton Kershaw, and Hiroki Kuroda. They are currently pursuing new free agent Vincente Padilla formerly of the Texas Rangers. Padilla went 8-6 for Texas this season, and maybe with a new club can see an improvement on that record.

Tonight on the mound the Dodgers have Randy Wolf going up against Rookie RHP hurler Joe Martinez, who is eyeing his third consecutive win of his career! If Los Angeles wins tonight they will have reversed their latest trend of dropping 4 of the last 5 series', as part of the mid-August grind that's so infamously dreaded throughout ball clubs.

So I received my financial aid a couple weeks ago, and for the longest time my Dell computer has been short aging on me.

Seriously, i would turn on the laptop (after charging it all night), take into consideration I'm using it at school nowhere near a plug station, and 10 minutes after it boots up and I log in the stupid thing dies!!!!! At one point i was able to take the laptop to class and watch my The Simpsons season DVD's for 3 hours in between classes in my car! Now the stupid thing works up until you click the first icon.

So this being said, my financial aid check came in and i dedicated this semester's gift to getting a new laptop. One that will not die out on me like that! One that will be efficient for podcasting and video editing. That's right.... I GOT A MAC!

Its the default white MacBook, but i customized it with 4 GB of extra memory and best of all I bought it from Cal Poly Pomona on a student discount for $799!!! Compliments of (my girlfriend) Veronica Gonzales!!!!

Seriously this is probably the best investment I've made since my Xbox 360 in 2007! I'm going to use it so much! and best of all my friend is giving me Final Cut Pro for free!!

My last laptop (the Dell), was approximately $450; So obviously you get what you pay for. So PC lovers who think their computers are way better than Mac all because of the pricing. You get what you pay for, and all because you are paying less for a HP PC, you're missing out on the endless fun that a Mac's compatible with! Mac's aren't just "aesthetically appealing," they are fully functional, virus-free gifts to humans and most importantly with Boot Camp, you can have the option of having a PC RAM and programming AND a Mac at the same time!!!!!! SUCK IT PC!!! I'm glad i got rid of my Dell.
